Double D Gaming Lab Certifications
The most obvious questions;
What are lab certifications?
What does that mean to me?
A "Lab Certification" would be the equivalent of an "Underwriters Seal" or the "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval" in the amusement and gaming industry. It is assurance by a licensed, certified, independent entity that the device, and the operating characteristics of the device, conform to all applicable regulations and specifications for the jurisdiction in which the device will be operated.
All licensed manufacturers of Casino slot machines must, by law, have their games certified by an approved testing lab and verified with a written report that documents the operating characteristics and integrity of the device.
What that means to the layman, is that a licensed, certified and registered testing lab has thoroughly tested and documented the claims of the manufacturer as to the operation of the gaming or non-gaming device and related equipment.
It is also assurance that the device operates consistently and honestly, with no hidden programs, no internal or external controls exist that would permit unauthorized changes or violate applicable jurisdictional regulations as required by Federal, State or local regulators.
The State of New Jersey recognizes and approves Eclipse Compliance Testing and Nick Farley & Associates (NFA), as an authorized testing facility to certify and test devices for compliance with applicable regulations for the use and operation of those devices in the State of New Jersey.
Links are provided for more information on the operation of the testing facilities and a few selected reports may be accessed below to provide insight into the scope of the reports. (Every electronic amusement device in New Jersey must be tested by law.)
